Savory Spaghetti Sauce

 

Serves 4

 

1-pound ground beef

1 large onion chopped

2 can tomato sauce (15 oz. Each)

1 clove garlic minced

1 bay leaf

1-tablespoon fresh basil minced or 1 tsp dried basil

2 teaspoons fresh oregano minced or ¾ teaspoon dried oregano

2 teaspoons sugar

¾ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon pepper

 

In a Dutch oven cook ground beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender; drain. Add the next 8 ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Remove the bay leaf. Serve over spaghetti. Garnish with fresh oregano as desired.
